Dr Karen Aitken, specialist in surgical menopause
GMC 4615547
Having graduated with a degree in Physiology incorporating psychology and sports science, I became very interested in women’s health. I completed my medicine degree from the University of Glasgow in 1999 then moved into general practice, taking the MRCGP exam at that time. I have since worked in women’s health specifically for 18 years, with specialist interests in surgical menopause and cancer. I love teaching and passing on my passion for women’s health as an honorary clinical lecturer at Glasgow University.
"Whether you know you will be undergoing ovarian removal surgery, or you have already had an oophorectomy or hysterectomy, Dr Karen Aitken is deeply experienced with surgical menopause and offers tailored guidance and treatment to help you manage its physical and emotional impact."
