Dr Helen Winpenny
“I am passionate about improving women’s health at all stages of their lives, and over the last 10 years have been especially interested in the menopause, and in promoting healthy lifestyle measures. I am committed to empowering women to help them make informed decisions about their healthcare for the present and their future well-being.
I am convinced of the benefits of exercise on physical as well as mental health and am a regular runner, and open water swimmer."

About
As a single parent to two fabulous daughters I am well aware of the stresses that women face at different stages of their lives, and the additional challenges that menopause can bring.
In my spare time when not exercising I enjoy reading, drinking coffee with friends, and learning to speak Italian.
Medical expertise
I always wanted to be a GP, and trained in London gaining a degree in pharmacology and then a distinction in my medical degree, before completing my training as a GP in South London.
I worked for several years as a clinical lecturer in General Practice in London before moving to Oxfordshire where I continue to work in the NHS. My clinical interests have always been in women’s health.
I have worked in the private sector as a menopause doctor for over 4 years, and continue to work as a GP in the NHS which I have done for the last 29 years. I hold the British Menopause Society Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care.
