I am an experienced GP Partner and I work in an NHS breast clinic. Over my career I have developed a passion for offering women compassionate menopause care, looking at both medical and non-medical ways to support people through this transition.
I am dedicated to taking a holistic approach looking at lifestyle factors such as nutrition, movement, stress and sleep alongside other measures including HRT if appropriate to enable the best outcomes for patients in terms of hormone health but also preventing future disease and managing existing conditions. I strongly believe that women should be involved in making decisions around their own health and In the consultation I can offer time and space to listen to women and to explore their options and to guide them in making choices that are right for them.
Medical expertise
I am an experienced GP having worked in the NHS prior to joining Menopause Care. I have established a service in the NHS in my local breast unit for women with menopause and breast cancer. This includes managing women with a complex family history of breast cancer or are at higher risk of breast cancer and managing menopausal symptoms in women with a history of breast cancer and endocrine side effects of treatment. I also work with the Northern Cancer Alliance to educate and support patients and healthcare professionals about menopause after cancer and the impacts of cancer treatments on menopause. I also have a particular interest in vulval, vaginal and sexual health in menopause as well as those with long covid. I am experienced in managing women with a complex medical history balancing their other health conditions with their menopause care.
I hold the BMS certificate and am a BMS accredited menopause specialist the highest level of menopause training available in the UK. Following completion of my medical degree at Newcastle university in 2008 I qualified as a general practitioner in 2016 and hold the MRCGP. I have done further training in psychosexual medicine and Lifestyle medicine.

I have been with menopause care now for almost 3 years and have to say that I always receive nothing but great care. My journey has been a bit of a roller coaster ride to say the least. Dr Gooding has been compassionate and extremely knowledgeable in what I can only describe as frustrating time for me! My appointments are via video call and very easy to set up. I have now finally found a treatment plan that works!
