Everything you need to know about Lenzetto
Lenzetto is a body identical oestrogen product which contains small amounts of a natural hormone called estradiol.
It is an easy-to-use, daily spray. You apply it to the forearm or inner thigh, on clean dry skin and it dries quickly. It gradually passes through the skin into your bloodstream where it then travels throughout the body to help with menopause symptoms.
Each device contains 56 sprays but the number of sprays you use each day will depend on the severity of your symptoms and your doctor’s instructions. It can be difficult to know when it runs out, so marking off sprays on the box can be helpful.
Although it dries within around 2 minutes and leaves no residue, women should wait a few minutes before dressing and avoid swimming or bathing within the first few hours of using it. If using sun cream, this must be applied at least an hour before using Lenzetto.
In women who still have a womb, it needs to be used alongside progesterone to provide endometrial protection.

If you have a womb, Lenzetto should be prescribed alongside progesterone. This protects the lining of the womb and reduces the risk of endometrial thickening.

Ultimately, the best time to use Lenzetto is whenever it fits best into your routine, as long as it is applied consistently at the same time every day. - Advantages of morning: Many women prefer to use Lenzetto in the morning as part of their daily routine. This allows time for the spray to dry fully and avoids interference with nighttime skincare routines.
- Advantages of night: Some women choose to apply Lenzetto in the evening, especially if they find it more convenient to avoid washing or applying other products during the day.

You should expect to see benefits to your symptoms within the first 3 months. For many women, they will feel the benefits within days of starting.
If you experience some improvements, but not significant reductions in your symptoms, your doctor will speak to you about adjusting the dose at your 3 month review.
If you have not experienced any improvements to your symptoms after 3 months then there may be an issue with how you absorb the oestrogen in the product. Your doctor may want to check your oestrogen levels with a blood test.

Choose clean, dry, and unbroken skin. Do not apply to the face, breasts and genitals.
This applies a single measured dose of the spray.
Make sure you are completely dry before putting on your clothes.
Do not wash or apply lotions, creams, or sunscreen for at least 1 hour after application.

Side effects of Lenzetto
Common side effects of Lenzetto can include:
- Breast tenderness
- Headaches
- Nausea
- Bloating
- Changes in mood
- Skin irritation at the application site
Less Common Side Effects of Lenzetto are:
- Dizziness
- Fluid retention
- Leg cramps
- Changes in libido
Many women will experience some side effects in their first few weeks of taking HRT - as your body adjusts to having different hormone levels. Side effects often settle in the first few weeks, and should have resolved fully by your 3 month review with your clinician.
If your side effects are impacting your quality of life, or they have not settled at three months, please speak to a doctor. If your side effects are severe, or you are concerned, you should speak to a doctor.
Yes, you can try alternative transdermal forms of oestrogen (gel or patch) or you could try oral progesterone.
- Women with breast cancer, blood clots, stroke, liver disease, or untreated high blood pressure.
- Those who have unexplained vaginal bleeding should consult a doctor before use.
